About The Position

Puget Sound Energy (PSE) is seeking qualified candidates to fill an open Facility Maintenance Planner position within its IT Infrastructure team. This role is crucial for planning, organizing, prioritizing, and communicating building maintenance and support activities, including planned, unplanned, and emergency work. The planner will oversee and coordinate internal and external resources, such as vendors and contractors, focusing on service provider performance quality. Key responsibilities include conducting building audits to determine KPIs affecting contractor payments, performing field investigations with engineers and builders (e.g., roof leak studies, root cause analysis), enforcing service matrix duties (especially for janitorial and landscaping contracts), and collaborating with technicians on engineered solutions to optimize safety, durability, and cost. The position upholds PSE's safety compliance standards and promotes a culture of total safety, conducting business honestly, ethically, and in accordance with core values and Code of Conduct. This is a safety-sensitive position subject to pre-employment drug screening.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Sciences or Technical Field based on the physical sciences or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
  • 3 years experience related to building/facility management or construction.
  • Ability to read drawings, interpret contracts, understand building codes (fire & safety), inspect work quality in the field, enforce contract duties performance quality expectations.
  • Proficiency in MS office software.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Washington state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates daily facility maintenance activities and emergency response work at all PSE locations.
  • Oversees service providers to ensure service level agreements are maintained and followed, including contracts for janitorial, landscape, fences and gates, pest control, and electrical services.
  • Prioritizes communications, coordinates with facility/personnel, and dispatches appropriate service provider(s), providing on-location/facility oversight when necessary.
  • Ensures accurate recording and maintenance of contracts, invoices, and associated documentation.
  • Acts as a liaison with service providers regarding outstanding issues and follow-on activities.
  • Tracks, reviews, analyzes, organizes, and maintains essential documents to support building maintenance at various locations.
  • Conducts office and field research to determine compliance with contracts and maintenance standards.
  • Assists in the preparation of cost estimates and work scheduling, and tracks and documents completion of scheduled work.
  • Supports policies, procedures, and consistent communication to ensure compliance with related standards, including NERC, CIP, and company safety standards.
  • Responds to related call-outs during storm and emergency situations.
  • Coordinates with other PSE departments as required to meet maintenance requirements and timelines.
  • Available to respond to emergencies/call-outs during non-standard times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
