About The Position

The Facility Maintenance Access Control Technician works with the Facilities Management team to coordinate inspections, maintenance, and repairs of building conveyance systems, including elevators, escalators, and lifts, supporting their safety and reliability. The role serves as the primary point of contact for service providers handling conveyance systems, automatic gates, and overhead doors, and coordinates preventative maintenance and repairs. It also supports access control system maintenance and repairs, troubleshoots system components, and manages user information and reporting in the access control database. Work orders and vendor communications are documented using the Archibus work order system.

The position works Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and requires on-call availability. The successful candidate is subject to extensive background checks and pre-employment substance screening.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of building construction experience related to the applicable commercial or industrial electrical trade in facility service and maintenance.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License at the time of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to use trade-related hand and power tools and heavy equipment used in building construction or renovation.
• Ability to read construction blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate inspections, maintenance, and repairs of building conveyances to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for service providers handling conveyance systems, automatic gates, and overhead doors.
• Facilitate timely repairs and preventative maintenance for conveyance-related systems.
• Document service requests, maintenance activities, and vendor communications using the Archibus work order system.
• Perform basic diagnostics and troubleshooting on automatic gates and overhead doors, coordinating vendor assistance when needed.
• Support maintenance and repairs of access control systems, including electric locks, card readers, and control panels.
• Manage access control databases by updating user permissions, adding or removing users, and generating reports.
