The Facility Educator will be responsible for understanding and applying OBRA Regulations and principles of adult learning. This role involves collaboration with facility department directors to orient and educate staff, ensuring all mandatory and regulatory education requirements are met. The educator will conduct nursing practice competencies, focusing on the management of medically complex patients, and regularly assess educational needs to identify areas for improvement. This position assumes responsibility for directing in-service educational programs to comply with Federal, OSHA, State, and JACHO Regulations, as well as corporate policy. The role includes preparing, scheduling, and selecting instructional materials, equipment, and training aids to provide state-of-the-art in-service programs. The educator will schedule and communicate in-service training programs based on facility needs, ensure necessary equipment and operators are available, and conduct regular meetings and education for all staff. Responsibilities also include preparing training classrooms, recommending equipment and supply needs, assessing staff learning needs, and working with the Corporate Education & Development department. The educator will facilitate training for electronic software programs and required certifications like Intravenous and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, maintain attendance and documentation, and assist licensed/certified nursing personnel in obtaining in-service training to maintain their credentials. Additionally, the role involves obtaining certification as a CPR instructor and coordinating the Employee Health Program.
