About The Position

Seeking experienced Cooks to prepare, cook, and serve meals at youth-serving facilities. Responsibilities include supervising kitchen helpers, maintaining food safety standards, preparing special dietary meals, and completing required documentation.

Requirements

  • NYC Food Protection Certificate (required)
  • 1-2 years of commercial/institutional cooking experience
  • Familiarity with food safety standards and kitchen equipment
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in youth or residential facilities preferred

Responsibilities

  • Cook and serve meals per recipes and dietary guidelines
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas
  • Operate commercial kitchen equipment
  • Ensure meals are ready on schedule, including early breakfasts and packed lunches
  • Monitor inventory and complete production paperwork
  • Support youth cooking programs as needed
