About The Position
Seeking experienced Cooks to prepare, cook, and serve meals at youth-serving facilities. Responsibilities include supervising kitchen helpers, maintaining food safety standards, preparing special dietary meals, and completing required documentation.
Requirements
- NYC Food Protection Certificate (required)
- 1-2 years of commercial/institutional cooking experience
- Familiarity with food safety standards and kitchen equipment
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays
Nice To Haves
- Experience in youth or residential facilities preferred
Responsibilities
- Cook and serve meals per recipes and dietary guidelines
- Supervise and train kitchen staff
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas
- Operate commercial kitchen equipment
- Ensure meals are ready on schedule, including early breakfasts and packed lunches
- Monitor inventory and complete production paperwork
- Support youth cooking programs as needed
