About The Position

The Facility Attendant follows safe cleaning practices while delivering high-quality cleaning and general maintenance to the center. This part-time position requires availability to work late evenings after 8:00 PM, up to 12:00 AM.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous cleaning and/or janitorial experience is an asset.
  • Intermediate (Standard) First Aid & CPR-C.
  • Able to obtain a Police Information Check and Vulnerable sector check.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office and other forms of technology effectively.
  • Flexibility required - work late evenings/weekends.
  • Works well with team in a customer service capacity.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to speak and write easily and accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned cleaning duties as indicated in cleaning routine schedule.
  • Perform daily deep cleaning tasks as required/scheduled, including daily heavy cleaning in the shower/wet areas.
  • Ensure paper, soap, toiletries, and health beauty supplies are fully stocked.
  • Ensure program areas and locker rooms are tidy, collect dirty towels from locker room and restock towels in plus locker room.
  • Perform heavy and light duty cleaning of the facility to ensure all areas meet a high standard.
  • Communicate any supplies needed to maintain inventory as needed.
  • Build and maintain good interpersonal staff and volunteer relationships.
  • Answer questions and support members in need of assistance.
  • Report to Duty Manager any inappropriate member behavior or facility issue.
  • Maintain a safe and supportive environment by following YMCA Health Safety Child Protection, Emergency Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensure safe, proper use of equipment and chemicals according to safe work practices and regulatory documentation.
  • Inspect and monitor equipment daily and complete any maintenance and cleaning checklist duties. Inform the Coordinator or Duty Manager if repairs are needed.
  • Ensure a safe environment for all clients, staff, and volunteers.
