About The Position

Merakey is seeking a Facility Attendant to join their team at their Fresh Start transitional housing program in Philadelphia, PA. This program provides 24/7 support to Veterans and individuals with a history of homelessness, chemical dependency, and/or varying degrees of behavioral health issues. The Facility Attendant will monitor residents' behavior to ensure a safe, harassment-free atmosphere conducive to recovery. Responsibilities include performing building checks for cleanliness and safety, incident reporting, monitoring residents' medication intake, and ensuring assigned chores are completed properly. The role also requires completing assigned trainings within mandated time frames.

Requirements

  • 18 years old minimum required

Nice To Haves

  • High School or GED preferred
  • Effective communication skills
  • Previous experience working with VA population preferred
  • Prior experience in Residential or Drug and Alcohol treatment setting is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Monitor residents' behavior.
  • Ensure a safe, harassment free atmosphere conducive to recovery.
  • Perform building checks for cleanliness and safety (this includes all rooms).
  • Incident reporting to include writing incident reports, reporting immediately to supervisor, or program manager and following procedures as stated in Merakey policy.
  • Monitor residents while they take their prescribed medication, report all medication monitoring issues to immediate supervisor and following Merakey incident report policy.
  • Monitor assigned chores (if applicable) and ensure that general inspections (GI's) are done properly.
  • Complete assigned trainings within mandated time frames.
