About The Position

Performs responsible paraprofessional work opening, closing, and monitoring facility operations and assisting with and supervising recreational activities. Duties are performed under regular supervision. The hiring range is $15.71 per hour to $21.61 per hour based on experience. The full salary range is $15.71 per hour to $27.50 per hour to provide opportunity for growth and development.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or equivalent experience.
• Some knowledge of community recreation methods and practices, including equipment and techniques and relevant rules and regulations for social, artistic, craft, and/or athletic programs for children, youths, or adults.
• Ability to instruct common recreational activities.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with coworkers, program participants, and the general public.
• Ability to enforce rules and regulations and maintain discipline.

Responsibilities

• Open and close recreation facilities.
• Prepare and set up facilities for use, including providing supplies and equipment.
• Oversee facility operations and monitor recreational activities.
• Supervise recreational activities and enforce participant standards of discipline and conduct.
• Serve as a scorekeeper.
• Assist with organizing and preparing recreational activities.
• Maintain stores and inventories of recreation equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Provide information to the public regarding center activities.
• Remove trash and perform general restroom upkeep.
• Perform related tasks as required.
