About The Position

The Facility Attendant delivers customer service throughout the Michigan Athletic Club, with a primary focus on locker rooms and fitness floors. Under the supervision of the Facility Supervisor, the attendant maintains clean, organized, stocked, safe, and welcoming spaces; performs custodial and laundry services; and checks fitness equipment for cleanliness, function, and safety. The role also includes assisting members, enforcing club policies, supporting events and assigned activities, and representing the club in alignment with its mission and values. The listed schedule is Sunday 6:30–11 a.m. and Monday and Tuesday 4:30–9 a.m. in the women’s locker room. The position is part-time and non-benefit eligible.

Requirements

Obtain CPR certification within six months of hire.
Be well-groomed and professional in appearance.
Communicate positively with staff, the public, and teammates.
Work well with people of various backgrounds and beliefs.
Be able to enforce MAC policies specific to locker rooms and fitness floors.

Nice To Haves

Attending high school or holding a high school diploma is desired.

Responsibilities

Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in locker rooms and fitness areas.
Provide custodial and laundry services to meet member needs and uphold hygiene standards.
Restock locker-room amenities and supplies.
Re-rack weights and return fitness equipment to its proper location.
Clean and inspect fitness equipment and proactively check that it is functioning safely.
Remove trash, collect dirty towels, and maintain cleanliness throughout the facility.
Greet members and assist with fitness equipment, club information, and general inquiries.
Enforce MAC policies and ensure safety protocols are followed in areas of responsibility.
Participate in ongoing training on MAC policies, procedures, and best practices.
Support special events, overnight shifts, and other assigned activities.
Maintain a friendly, respectful, and service-oriented demeanor with members and staff.
Ensure proper shift coverage and represent the MAC in alignment with its mission and values.
Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
