Facility Attendant
About The Position
Merakey is seeking a Facility Attendant to join their team at their Fresh Start transitional housing program in Philadelphia, PA. This program provides 24/7 support to Veterans and individuals with a history of homelessness, chemical dependency, and behavioral health issues, operating out of 12 locations in partnership with the Philadelphia VA Medical Centers and Philadelphia’s Office of Addiction Services. The program also offers "self-pay" housing options. Facility Attendants are responsible for monitoring residents' behavior to ensure a safe, harassment-free atmosphere conducive to recovery. This includes performing building checks for cleanliness and safety in all rooms, and writing incident reports as needed, following Merakey policy. They also monitor residents taking prescribed medication, reporting any issues to their supervisor. Additionally, they monitor assigned chores and ensure general inspections are completed properly, and must complete assigned trainings within mandated time frames.
Requirements
- High School or GED required
- 18 years old minimum required
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual (English / Spanish)
- Previous experience working with VA population preferred
- Prior experience in Residential or Drug and Alcohol treatment setting is preferred
Responsibilities
- Monitor residents' behavior.
- Ensure a safe, harassment free atmosphere conducive to recovery.
- Perform building checks for cleanliness and safety (this includes all rooms).
- Incident reporting to include writing incident reports, reporting immediately to supervisor, or program manager and following procedures as stated in Merakey policy.
- Monitor residents while they take their prescribed medication, report all medication monitoring issues to immediate supervisor and following Merakey incident report policy.
- Monitor assigned chores (if applicable) and ensure that general inspections (GI's) are done properly.
- Complete assigned trainings within mandated time frames.
