Facilities Technician (Per Diem) - Engineering (Westport Campus)
About The Position
St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, part of the Hartford HealthCare network, is seeking a Facilities Technician for its Westport Campus. This role involves performing general preventive maintenance and repairs across various facility areas. The technician will be responsible for completing work orders, documenting work performed, and maintaining records for regulatory compliance. Tasks include utilizing various materials for installations, performing general outdoor maintenance such as lawn care and snow removal, minor plumbing repairs, and decorative applications like painting and wall covering. The position requires a commitment to maintaining a safe and clean environment and adhering to safety regulations.

Responsibilities
- Performs general preventive maintenance and repair of various areas around the facility
- Completes work orders, documents appropriate information on completed work and/or documents the status of equipment in order to maintain appropriate records for regulatory agencies
- Utilizes materials (wood, metal, concrete, plastics, composites) to fit and install glass windows, pictures, ceiling tiles, perimeter rail systems, wood trim and moldings, medical hardware stations, fire extinguishers, eye wash stations and other projects
- Performs general outside maintenance (mowing lawns, weeding, raking leaves, trimming bushes, snow removal and ice control tasks (shoveling & salting)
- Perform minor plumbing repairs and replacements of faucets, toilets and flush valves
- Performs the decorative application to walls, ceiling and other structures which includes scraping, sanding, filling holes and cracks, removing /replacing outlet and switch covers, masking and applying paint or wall covering to surfaces based on manufacturing specifications
- Perform other related duties as required
