As the Facilities Technician, you will be responsible for the operating, maintenance and repair of EIA Building Systems, additional trade systems, its supporting facilities and satellite airport. As part of the Facilities Maintenance team, you would work closely with trades, contractors, staff and tenants to ensure that Edmonton Airports facilities are operating efficiently, safely and maintained to high standards. A certain degree of physical activity is required in this position.

Requirements

  • Completion of a High School Diploma.
  • Completion of a Certificate program in Building Maintenance and/or 4th Class Power Engineering.
  • 5 – 7 years’ experience performing similar Preventative/Corrective Maintenance duties in a commercial or institutionalized environment.
  • Exposure to a CMMS/Preventative maintenance programs will be required.
  • Prior experience with tools, equipment and procedures used in the maintenance of facilities systems.
  • Basic PC skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong ability to prioritize, multitask, and work unsupervised.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical, creative thinking, attention to detail and decision-making skills
  • Professional communication skills, oral, and written
  • Possess an exceptional customer service philosophy
  • Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Must secure and maintain appropriate airport security clearance and acceptable criminal records check

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on various terminal building systems (Washrooms, Building Services, HVAC Systems, Plumbing Systems, Baggage Systems, Bridges etc.) within the Airport Terminal and Edmonton Airports supported Outbuildings.
  • Respond to on-demand reactive maintenance requests as per the daily work schedule.
  • Perform all work in accordance to established operational and safe processes and practices.
  • Receive, track, monitor and report status of maintenance and repair work within the Edmonton Airports CMMS management database.
  • Assist in the implementation of preventative maintenance (PM) programs. Ensures that deficiencies are identified, recorded and escalated, and that related documentation is maintained.
  • Assist in enhancing tenant and customer satisfaction and maintaining positive relations through the manner in which work is performed and services delivered.
  • Work in conjunction with the Facilities Maintenance team members on Infrastructure upgrades and improvement initiatives.
  • Operate aerial lifts, forklifts, and acts as a safety watch in public areas as required to carry out duties.
