About The Position

The Facilities Technician performs maintenance and support services for the buildings and grounds of Southwest Christian School, as directed by the Facilities Supervisor. We are actively seeking to fill this role prior to the start of the 2026-2027 school year. The role involves performing basic building and grounds maintenance tasks, keeping logs of maintenance work, setting up furniture/equipment for events, and potentially responding to emergencies on a 24-hour basis. The position also requires active participation in activities that build a faith community on campus.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to operate a variety of tools and power equipment
  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of tools and terminology of the building trades, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; including being able to maintain a calm demeanor in the event of an emergency
  • Team player with a great attitude
  • Able to manage time effectively, occasionally with competing demands for attention
  • Deeply committed to a consistent daily walk with our Savior, Jesus Christ through prayer, devotional study, and church membership
  • Demonstrates the spiritual maturity, academic ability, and personal leadership qualities to support the educational environment that “trains up a child in the way he should go” (Proverbs 22:6)
  • Possesses the ability to work gracefully with parents, students, and other school staff to develop a unified and successful educational program
  • Demonstrates the ability to accept and carry out responsibilities and make competent, professional decisions
  • Eagerly participates in professional development activities and the evaluation process, with a desire to grow professionally, spiritually, and personally
  • Maintains a professional personal appearance that is a Christian role model of cleanliness, modesty, good taste, and is in accordance with school policy

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of two years prior related experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Abides by the policies and guidelines contained in the SCS Employee Handbook
  • Performs basic building and grounds maintenance tasks to help maintain safe and efficient operations
  • Keeps logs of maintenance work as directed by the Supervisor using a work order management system
  • Sets up furniture/equipment for events that take place at the School
  • Actively participates in activities that help build a faith community on the campus
  • May be required to respond to emergencies on a 24-hour basis
