About The Position

The primary responsibility is to maintain and perform PM (preventative maintenance) activities on non-production systems, the facility itself and grounds area to ensure a safe, efficient and functional environment at JTEKT.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience with electrical, mechanical, and hydraulics
  • Knowledge and experience with HVAC systems
  • Ability to use power and hand tools
  • Proficient computer skills for work orders and documentation
  • Ability to capture equipment data and system performance analysis
  • Work independently or within a team environment
  • Ability to work at elevated heights, operate a manlift or forklift and follow established safety rules and standards
  • Able to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • standing, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching above and below shoulders, moving left to right repetitively, grasping, and fine finger dexterity
  • May be required to lift during shift up to 40 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required with this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • The performance of this position requires exposure to manufacturing areas which require the use of personal protective equipment such as steel toed shoes, safety glasses with side shields.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain support and inspection of non-production equipment within the facility and perform routine maintenance of systems as required (i.e., HVAC systems, evaporator, etc.)
  • Maintain general plant, utilities and equipment as required, including lighting, plumbing, air filters, restrooms, breakrooms, grounds, etc.
  • Assist contractors with building projects.
  • Keep 5S in all systems areas and auxiliary rooms.
  • Work with maintenance on projects as needed.
  • Performs periodic inspections of facilities and grounds.
  • Keeps necessary records and ensures actions taken to eliminate any potential issues.
  • Works from blueprints, sketches, schematics drawings, diagrams, safety codes, manuals, and handbooks to troubleshoot mechanical or electrical difficulties and take corrective action.
  • Other duties as assigned by management
