Bohemia, NY is a core Thermo Fisher Scientific Global Label Services site delivering fast, high-quality clinical trial labeling through integrated design, printing, inspection, translation, and regulatory support. The site enables accelerated global studies with advanced OCR inspection, temperature-specific labeling expertise, and dedicated clinical labeling project management. You will support packaging and manufacturing operations by operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting specialized folding and gluing equipment while ensuring compliance with GMP and safety standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures
  • Familiarity with GMP, SOPs, and quality control practices
  • Basic knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Willingness to handle chemicals and work in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Regular standing, walking, bending, and lifting
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 70 lbs
  • Valid vision test certification required (renewed every two years)

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Fields of Study: Technical/Mechanical
  • Experience with industrial equipment maintenance and repair preferred
  • Experience working in GMP-regulated manufacturing environments strongly preferred
  • Experience working with building/manufacturing facility infrastructure

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics; perform troubleshooting and repair of sensors, motors, controls, wiring, and related systems
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment (printers and label presses) and facility systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical) to ensure reliability and uptime
  • Diagnose equipment and facility issues; identify root causes and implement solutions to reduce downtime and improve performance
  • Respond to equipment failures and facility service requests in a timely manner
  • Perform electrical work including wiring, lighting, and circuit troubleshooting in compliance with codes and safety standards
  • Maintain automated systems, conveyors, pumps, and motors; support equipment installation, commissioning, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Conduct general facility maintenance including drywall repair, painting, building upkeep, routine inspections, and grounds support as needed
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records in compliance with GMP requirements and use digital tools to document work and communicate with cross-functional teams
  • Follow all safety procedures including PPE, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and OSHA regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
