Facilities Technician- 2nd Shift

About The Position

This role is responsible for the operation and maintenance of various facility systems including compressed air, process water, chemical system filters, fire suppression, ventilation, overhead doors, plumbing, and electrical systems. The technician will ensure these systems are maintained, communicate effectively with team members, operate equipment such as forklifts and lifts, maintain logbooks, and assist with the relocation and installation of new equipment, including electrical, pneumatic, and water piping and wiring, as well as computer and phone cabling.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent (must fulfill NC state or federal educational requirements).
  • 2-3 years experience in electrical and mechanical skills (plumbing, piping, & HVAC).
  • Effective verbal, listening and communication skills.
  • Work within high & low voltage circuits (24v~480v).
  • Able to operate forklift, scissors lift, boom lift, scrubber & company truck.
  • Able to use various hand tools and equipment (test instruments and meters).
  • Read and interpret schematic & diagram to help troubleshooting.
  • Able to communicate process/problems.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain utility systems including compressed air, process water, chemical system filters, fire suppression system checks, ventilation systems, overhead doors, facilities plumbing systems, and facilities electrical systems.
  • Maintain good communications with team members.
  • Operate forklift/scissors lift/boom lift.
  • Maintain various log books.
  • Relocation and settling of new equipment.
  • Installation of electrical, pneumatic, and water piping & wiring to equipment.
  • Installation of computer and phone cabling.
  • Teamwork and participation in company activities such as IATF16949, ISO9001, ISO14001 and Employee Involvement.
  • Effective communication and involvement with team members, internal departments and outside resources.
  • Understand and comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain 5’s standards: maintaining good housing keeping.
  • Requires shift work and overtime as required.
  • Ability to work in an environment and perform duties with minimal supervision.
