About The Position

This role is responsible for reading and understanding blueprints, safely performing metal forming, bending, and finishing. The technician will measure and cut materials to specifications, identify and source correct materials for joining metals, and select the appropriate welding process (MIG, TIG, ARC). Responsibilities include performing various welding repairs, communicating effectively verbally and in writing, and verifying finished work against blueprint tolerances. Employees may be required to perform other job-related duties as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills.
• Basic problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member in varying conditions (heat, cold, indoor/outdoor and heights up to 50 feet).
• Knowledge of proper PPE for each job performed.
• Knowledge of various welding techniques including MIG, TIG and Arc.
• Safety minded attitude.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to memorize the names and sizes of all rack types.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand blueprints prior to starting a project.
• Safely perform metal forming, bending, and finishing.
• Measure and cut materials to specifications.
• Identify and source correct materials required to join specific metals together.
• Identify the correct welding process to weld materials together.
• Cut and weld materials with a variety of processes to include MIG, TIG and ARC.
• Identify and perform a variety of welding repairs as needed.
• Communicate effectively, both with verbal and written communication.
• Check finished work to ensure that it falls within the tolerances as defined on the blueprints.
