The Facilities Technician Level III reports to the Facilities Manager and is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting building systems. This role demands advanced skills in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing hydraulic and mechanical systems, with a strong emphasis on electrical systems, PLCs, and sortation controls to ensure peak production performance. The technician will handle critical and emergency issues, prioritize projects, and make independent decisions based on facility needs. Key responsibilities for the first year include performing general facility repairs such as minor plumbing, advanced electrical work, lighting, and rack repair, as well as minor repairs on doors and dock plates. The role involves assisting with major repairs, overseeing third-party project completion, and communicating with peers, customers, and management. The technician will support and perform reactive repairs and preventative maintenance on conveyor and sorter equipment, including pneumatic sub-systems, troubleshooting controls, and working with vendor partners. Equipment maintenance includes preventative maintenance on production-related equipment, Powered Industrial Trucks, and building equipment, along with maintaining inventory and supporting continuous improvement. Electrical duties involve maintaining and troubleshooting all building electrical systems (low and high voltage, 110-480V AC/DC devices). The role also requires ensuring the maintenance shop is organized and clean, adhering to safety regulations like lockout/tag out, and fabricating custom equipment using materials like wood and metal. Additional duties include reading blueprints, manuals, and schematics, prioritizing tasks, and overseeing small to medium-sized facility projects and third-party vendors.
