About The Position

This full-time position in the Facilities department at Newark Wayne Community Hospital involves performing essential functions across various areas including Housekeeping, Floor Care, Security, Supply Distribution, Inventory Control, Minor Maintenance, Building & Ground Maintenance, Waste Handling, and Waste Processing. The role requires excellent customer service and communication skills, with a compassionate and patient-focused approach.

Requirements

• Minimum of one (1) year of previous work experience in a related field.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Compassionate, warm and patient focused.
• 1-5 years previous work experience in a related field.
• May require a valid NYS drivers license.

Nice To Haves

• For ElderONE employment and other areas of elderly care: 1 year experience working with the frail elderly population is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine maintenance work orders.
• Evaluates broken equipment and performs minor repairs as needed.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and functional working environment.
• Assists in delivering supplies, equipment maintenance, room turnover, emergency response, patient and/or specimen transport, and routine housekeeping functions.
• Provides technical responsibilities such as mixing bicarbonate, restocking acid concentrate, or setting up Dialysis equipment for Dialysis treatment.
• Tests treated water for chloramines levels and disinfects the Bicarbonate Delivery System Loop.
• Provides security support services as required.
• Performs other duties as requested.
