About The Position

Element has a current opening for a Facilities Supervisor (Temp to Perm) to join our growing team in Santa Fe Springs, CA. The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all facility maintenance, safety, environmental, and infrastructure-related activities to ensure the site operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. This position supervises maintenance personnel and contractors while managing preventive maintenance programs, facility improvements, utility systems, building repairs, and safety-related equipment. The role is critical to maintaining uninterrupted laboratory and office operations while supporting quality, compliance, and operational excellence. This aligns with responsibilities previously identified internally, including electrical and plumbing systems, safety equipment, hazardous waste management, and overall facility upkeep.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of: HVAC systems, Electrical systems, Plumbing systems, Building automation systems, Fire and life safety systems, Preventive maintenance programs, OSHA and environmental regulations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Construction Management, or related field preferred.Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily maintenance and repair activities for buildings, grounds, and infrastructure
  • Manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs
  • Ensure proper operation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, fire protection, lighting, and utility systems
  • Conduct routine facility inspections and identify improvement opportunities
  • Coordinate building renovations, repairs, and capital improvement projects
  • Maintain facility documentation, permits, and maintenance records.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company safety requirements
  • Maintain emergency equipment including eyewash stations, safety showers, fire extinguishers, alarms, and spill response materials
  • Coordinate hazardous waste storage and disposal activities
  • Support safety inspections, audits, and corrective actions
  • Participate in emergency response and business continuity planning
  • Select, schedule, and oversee external maintenance providers and contractors
  • Obtain and review quotations for facility projects and services
  • Verify contractor compliance with site safety requirements
  • Evaluate contractor performance and ensure quality work completion
