Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 5 years hands-on facilities/engineering experience in a hotel, casino, resort, or large commercial environment.
  • Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or lead technician role.
  • Experience with large commercial pumping systems (5 HP+) strongly preferred.

  • Must be able to respond to emergency situations outside scheduled shifts.
  • EPA 608 Universal Refrigerant Certification (required).
  • CPO or AFO Pool Operator certification required (or obtain within 90 days).

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's in Facilities Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology preferred.
  • Casino/gaming facility background a plus.
  • OSHA 30-Hour General Industry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, schedule, and direct maintenance engineers, technicians, and pool operators across all shifts.
  • Conduct daily inspections of all facility systems mechanical rooms, rooftop equipment, electrical distribution, plumbing, and life safety systems.
  • Manage and execute preventive maintenance (PM) programs.
  • Respond promptly to emergency work orders, equipment failures, and guest complaints; coordinate corrective action and minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate and oversee third-party contractors and service technicians; ensure work is completed safely and to specification.
  • Enforce all safety protocols: OSHA standards, lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and hot-work permit procedures.
  • Oversee operations of a large commercial pool facility including main pools, water features, and slide pump systems.
  • Manage large-capacity centrifugal and variable-speed circulation pumps, filtration systems (sand, DE, cartridge), and chemical dosing equipment (chlorine, CO₂ pH control).
  • Ensure water chemistry is tested, logged, and maintained in compliance with state and local health department standards.
  • Supervise backwash cycles, filter media replacement, pump impeller maintenance, and leak detection.
  • Ensure all aquatic equipment meets ADA and health code requirements; coordinate seasonal openings, closures, and event setup.
  • Oversee casino-grade HVAC systems including large centrifugal and screw chillers, cooling towers, AHUs, VAV systems, and building automation controls (BAS/BMS).
  • Manage smoke evacuation, makeup air, and precision air systems required for casino gaming floor ventilation standards.
  • Coordinate seasonal balancing, filter replacements, coil cleaning, belt/bearing inspections, and refrigerant management (EPA 608 compliance).
  • Monitor BAS alarms and trend data; identify inefficiencies and implement energy-saving measures across hotel rooms and event spaces.
  • Supervise maintenance and repair of commercial kitchen equipment across multiple F&B outlets including restaurants, buffets, bars, and banquet kitchens.
  • Oversee service of commercial ranges, convection/combi/deck ovens, fryers, broilers, steamers, dishwashers, and ice machines.
  • Manage walk-in cooler and freezer refrigeration systems, reach-in cases, and under-counter refrigeration.
  • Ensure kitchen hood/exhaust systems, Ansul fire suppression, and grease interceptors are maintained per NFPA 96 and local fire codes.
  • Coordinate with F&B management on planned outages and capital replacements to minimize operational disruption; maintain UL and NSF compliance records.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, ADA, NFPA, local fire marshal, gaming commission facility standards, and health department regulations.
  • Prepare and submit required inspection documentation for boilers, pressure vessels, elevators, fire suppression, and pool operations.
  • Assist in developing the annual operating and capital budget; manage vendor relationships and service contracts to optimize cost and response time.
