Role: Facilities Specialist III Monday- Friday; day shift, however on-call responsibilities will apply. This is a fully onsite role based at our Greenfield, IN Laboratory. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5+ years). In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical and/or light general construction may be required
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization and outside vendors

  • May require knowledge and understanding of computerized maintenance and work order systems
  • May require a strong understanding of security systems

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all areas of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and specialty service calls and in-house repairs throughout the facility and grounds
  • Responsible for completing all facility work in a manner which maintains compliance with site Quality Management Systems
  • Respond to emergency, afterhours, and trouble calls and oversee the repair of the systems through completion
  • Manage the execution of all vendor led scheduled and non-scheduled work requests and special projects, and coordinates activities of non-staff vendors, including subcontractors, and landlords
  • Perform the monitoring, daily rounds and inspection, maintenance and repair of facility equipment and architectural feature
  • Understand the sequences required for proper building operations and the functionality of the building(s) automation system
  • Must be proficient in troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical failures
  • Perform facility corrective and preventive maintenance where qualified, and repair where assigned
  • Conduct building tours, restores equipment loss and reports deficiencies for corrective action
  • Coordinates meetings, workshops, training, and seminars, as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information
  • Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with building and safety regulations
  • Attends complex meetings with multiple attendees, and works collaboratively to develop solutions
  • Generates purchase requisitions and maintains records of expenditures
