Requirements

  • Understanding of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to ensure occupant comfort.
  • Ability to repair motors, pumps, and machinery.
  • Replacing switches, outlets, diagnosing electrical issues and reading schematics.
  • Repairing leaks, unclogging drains, and maintaining fixtures.
  • Drywall repair, painting, carpentry, and building hardware repairs.
  • Proficiency using power tools, hand tools, and diagnostic equipment like multimeters.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, building codes, and safety procedures to prevent hazards.
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and MS Office for tracking work orders.
  • Diagnosing issues and implementing solutions, often in emergency situations.
  • Prioritizing multiple repair requests efficiently.
  • Interacting professionally with building occupants and tenants.
  • Ability to handle varied tasks and work on-call for emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, diagnose, and repair building systems.
  • Perform HVAC maintenance.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting.
  • Perform plumbing repair.
  • Proficiency with hand/power tools.
  • Handle varied tasks and work on-call for emergencies.
  • Stand for extended periods of time, walk, work in tight spaces, bend, squat, twist, kneel, reach, climb stairs and ladders, lift heavy equipment.
  • Distinguish between colors.
  • Work in an environment with noise that may be difficult for some individuals with sensitivity to noise.
  • Use of hand and power tools.
  • Use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to welding helmets, hand shields, goggles, respirators, fire/flame resistant clothing and aprons, and gloves.
  • Additional PPE will be required for positions involving work in a clean room environment.
