Facilities – Rail/Transit Quality Control Manager
About The Position
Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT), a 100% employee-owned multidisciplinary consulting firm, is seeking a Facilities – Rail/Transit Quality Control Manager. The position is a project team role responsible for construction project oversight, applying general engineering and construction principles to interpret, organize, coordinate, communicate, and execute assignments with limited supervision. The role helps ensure work is completed in accordance with contract documents, supports other team members, and performs additional duties assigned by the Project Manager or Supervisor. The manager assists with planning, scheduling, and coordinating project work and may oversee a portion of a large project or an entire small- to medium-sized project. Responsibilities include developing project-specific quality assurance programs, managing project sub-consultants and in-house support disciplines, monitoring quality practices, and coordinating project teams to meet milestones and quality guidelines. Compensation is listed as $156,000–$187,200, commensurate with experience, education, and certifications.
Responsibilities
- Assist with planning, scheduling, and coordinating work throughout the various phases of a project.
- Develop and implement project-specific quality assurance programs.
- Read and interpret construction documents, including drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, testing and inspection reports, maps, aerial photography, and topographical surveys.
- Coordinate with the project management team to verify that current contract documents and standards are being used.
- Prepare reports and logs, including inspector daily reports, cost-to-date and estimated-cost-to-complete records, submittals, and requests for information.
- Assist with quantity surveys and take-offs based on contract documents and actual work in place.
- Enforce, monitor, and document quality management and quality assurance practices for task orders being sent out for bid.
- Prepare and compile contract plans, specifications, and estimates.
- Manage project sub-consultants and in-house support disciplines.
- Attend meetings and record, review, and distribute meeting minutes.
- Communicate and coordinate with team members to support completion by defined milestones and established quality guidelines.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
