About The Position

The Facilities & Operations Technician Assistant is responsible to provide general support to the Facilities & Operations Technician as they perform maintenance services to the Access Properties, as well as complete general maintenance items as needed to the organization’s facilities in all Access and Subsidiaries locations.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years experience working within the Construction Industry
  • Basic Familiarity with HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Building Construction
  • Valid class 5 Manitoba Driver’s license
  • Willingness to upgrade trade based knowledge
  • Demonstrated desire to serve others in a friendly and professional manner
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Attention to detail with high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and perform well under pressure
  • Ability to prioritize using sound judgment to make timely and effective decisions
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of credit union policies and procedures on risk management, security and fraud prevention.
  • Observe all credit union policies and security requirements for privacy, safeguarding information, frauds, forgeries and holdup procedures.
  • Ability to follow standardized policies and procedures
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Vehicle and drivers license

Responsibilities

  • Provides a variety of custodial functions in and around buildings, including setup and removal of furniture, changing light bulbs, signage bulbs, filters and touch up painting, debris pick up, etc. as required
  • Assist the Facilities & Operations Technician to ensure the efficient operation of all plumbing, electric and mechanical systems
  • Provides a variety of minor building maintenance and repair tasks and when assistance is necessary.
  • Assist/ supervises trades people or specialists with major repairs, building renovations and maintenance operations
  • Provide a positive liaison with appointed personnel at each property, addressing their concerns
  • Assist in ensuring that the buildings life safety equipment and systems, as well as the buildings emergency evacuations plans are up to date and kept in excellent operational condition
  • Travel between various locations to service buildings and be on call for emergencies as required
  • Represent Access competencies in all public interactions
  • Ensure that all maintenance is kept up to date and done in a timely manner
