About The Position

The position is a key member of the Operations Team, responsible for ensuring the upkeep, functionality, and reliability of organizational assets. Serving as the primary link between physical facility operations and internal systems, this role coordinates tasks across multiple domains, including vendor management, basic IT support, and fleet logistics. Additionally, this position provides hands-on facility support, such as moving office furniture, assembling workstations and filing cabinets, managing supply fulfillment, and assisting with vehicle servicing to ensure daily operations proceed seamlessly and efficiently.

Requirements

  • Basic mechanical, plumbing, and electrical knowledge
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects safely
  • Familiarity with IT equipment and basic troubleshooting
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Clear communication and customer service orientation
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Attention to detail and safety awareness
  • 3+ years of experience in facilities, operations, or a related maintenance role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable of identifying basic facilities (plumbing, electrical) and technical (IT) issues, ensuring timely escalation to the appropriate departments
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Good Driving Record with current with vehicle insurance
  • Basic understanding of accounting and finance principles

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine checks and inspections of facilities and equipment.
  • Fulfill supply requests and maintain inventory of essential items.
  • Vehicle maintenance coordination, including oil changes, inspections, and scheduled maintenance.
  • Collect and organize vehicle usage logs and maintenance records.
  • Support building maintenance and minor repairs as needed.
  • Perform minor, everyday facility upkeep (e.g., patching drywall, hanging fixtures) while leaving skilled trades like electrical and plumbing to approved vendors.
  • Troubleshoot basic IT and office equipment (routers, computers, printers, conference room tech). Submit, track, and escalate support tickets with IT vendors or system admins when higher-level help is needed.
  • Conduct routine checks of facilities and equipment to ensure overall reliability and functionality.
  • Perform light cleaning and organizational duties to maintain a sanitary, safe, and welcoming environment for staff and visitors.
  • Travel between various Step Up sites (LA County/San Bernardino County) as needed Note: This position is eligible for mileage reimbursement for all inter-site travel
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and operational policies to keep the facility secure and running smoothly.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities and vehicles.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workspaces.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of equipment and supplies.
  • Communicate safety protocols and maintenance updates to staff.
  • Assist with vendor coordination for specialized repairs or services.
