Facilities Mechanic - Grounds - Part-Time - Maryland
About The Position
The Facilities Mechanic is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of all exterior areas throughout the property to ensure a well-kept and welcoming environment for guests and Team Members. This role plays a critical part in preserving the operational integrity of the grounds by performing routine landscaping, debris removal, and equipment operation in accordance with established standards. Your commitment to maintaining orderly, hazard-free outdoor spaces supports guest satisfaction, protects company assets, and upholds the high level of quality associated with Live! Casino & Hotel.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Zero (0) to two (2) years’ experience with grounds keeping and or outdoor maintenance of a commercial property/facility.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license as determined by the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency.
- Ability to read, write, and understand simple instructions.
- Ability to use all necessary tools and equipment to perform maintenance functions.
- Ability to answer all calls promptly and maintain politeness.
- Ability to pay attention to the needs of guests and team members at all times.
- Knowledge of OSHA required standards and safety requirements.
- Knowledge of personal protective equipment.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented.
- Efficient and organized.
- Communication and customer service skills.
- High aptitude for learning.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for cutting, weeding, and edging the grass, raking the leaves, and sweeping the parking lots, and garage.
- Responsible for planting, removing, and relocating plants, flowers, trees, and bushes.
- Removing all trash and debris from parking lot areas and grounds. Emptying trash containers.
- Operate and maintain equipment such as trucks, utility vehicles, pavement sweepers and scrubbers, pressure washers, litter vacuums, etc.
- Responsible for ensuring all signs, posts, and chain fences are straight and secure.
- Responsible to ensure all outside areas are clean, orderly, safe, and are at the highest level of maintenance at all times.
- Must be available for weather events such as snow removal or other storms.
- May be called upon and assigned from time to time to assist with internal logistics and maintenance.
- Other duties as assigned.
