Facility Manager (IFM) - JLL What this job involves - The Facility Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of a regulated manufacturing facility within a JLL Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) account. This role ensures the safe, compliant, and reliable delivery of facilities and engineering services supporting critical operations. The Facility Manager provides visible, onsite leadership, drives adherence to operational and compliance standards, manages service delivery performance, and serves as the primary point of coordination between JLL teams, service partners, and client stakeholders. The role requires active field presence, disciplined execution, and direct accountability for safety, quality, delivery, and people outcomes.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in facilities management, engineering operations, or building systems leadership.
  • Experience supporting regulated manufacturing or critical environments preferred.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
  • Familiarity with CMMS platforms (Maximo preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and service providers in an onsite operational role.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in GMP, FDA/EMA-regulated manufacturing, or similar environments highly preferred
  • OSHA 30, CFM, CHFM, or trade certifications (HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical) preferred.
  • Exposure to Lean, reliability-centered maintenance, or continuous improvement methods.
  • Experience supporting shutdowns or operational readiness activities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily facilities and engineering operations for critical utilities, HVAC/Cleanroom, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, process utilities, BMS/EMS, and Fire Life Safety systems ensuring asset reliability, uptime, and environmental compliance in regulated manufacturing and laboratory environments.
  • Own and manage the preventive maintenance program through disciplined work management practices in CMMS (Maximo), controlling work order backlog and driving transition from reactive to planned maintenance to prevent service interruptions.
  • Enforce compliance with GDP/ALCOA+ documentation standards, site SOPs, and safety policies while providing direct oversight of LOTO execution and permit-controlled work (hot work, confined space, line break, elevated work).
  • Maintain Fire Life Safety inspection records, ensure audit readiness, and support regulatory, client, and internal audits with corrective actions completed on time.
  • Lead, coach, and develop frontline engineering and facilities personnel through clear performance expectations, regular 1:1 meetings, training completion, and staffing coverage planning including on-call rotations.
  • Lead safety engagement activities including Purposeful Presence Observations (PPoF), SQDIP huddles, and near-miss reporting; exercise stop-work authority when conditions present unacceptable risk.
  • Coordinate and oversee third-party service providers ensuring adherence to safety, quality, schedule, and contractual requirements through proper SOW development, bid evaluation, and CMMS closeout.
  • Serve as primary onsite facilities contact, participate in governance forums providing SQDIP updates, communicate operational risks and recovery plans clearly, and build client trust through responsiveness and follow-through.
  • Support minor projects, shutdown readiness, commissioning activities, root cause investigations, and CAPA development while identifying opportunities for standardization, reliability improvement, and operational effectiveness.
  • Maintain consistent physical presence onsite, lead from the field through direct engagement and observation, demonstrate ownership of outcomes, and escalate operational, safety, and compliance risks promptly.
