About The Position

The Facilities Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Modesto facility and oversight of additional office locations, ensuring all buildings, equipment, and grounds are safe, compliant, and fully operational. This role partners with vendors, property managers, and internal teams to support business operations, manage maintenance, supplies, and inventory, and coordinate repairs, inspections, security efforts, and special projects. Travel to other sites as required to conduct inspections and maintain consistent operational standards.

Requirements

  • AA degree (BA degree preferred)
  • 5-7 years of experience in a similar Facility Coordinator / Operations Manager / Maintenance Manager position
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with multiple departments, vendors, and internal stakeholders
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to prioritize and reprioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate effectively across departments and serve as a key resource for issue resolution

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections of buildings, grounds, lighting, roofing, and common areas of multiple locations
  • Monitor and maintain water systems (hot water heaters, tanks, D.I. water)
  • Perform or coordinate minor electrical, plumbing, and HVAC repairs
  • Replace air filters and oversee preventative maintenance programs
  • Inspect and maintain emergency backup generators, including logging fuel, oil, and usage
  • Coordinate fire inspections and liaise with local fire marshal and inspection vendors and ensure fire safety systems are maintained
  • Oversee specialized equipment maintenance (e.g., ice machines, wax traps, air filtration)
  • Oversee on-site security and safety inspections and participate in Safety Review Compliance
  • Serve as liaison with vendors, service providers, and property management
  • Manage service contracts and maintain updated vendor contact lists
  • Schedule and supervise maintenance services and repairs
  • Manage facility supply inventory, including warehouse organization and stocking
  • Order supplies (e.g., U-Line, office, breakroom, and maintenance items)
  • Oversee company fleet operations
  • Coordinate movement of furniture and equipment as needed
  • Receive and process freight deliveries
  • Maintain cleanliness standards by coordinating with cleaning vendors
  • Handle waste management tasks (e.g., cardboard, specialty lab waste)
  • Maintain logs for temperature, humidity, equipment, and maintenance activities
  • Track facility-related expenses and maintain documentation
  • Report issues, project updates, and inspection findings to leadership
  • Lead or support special projects as assigned
  • Conduct annual purging of materials (e.g., slides, blocks, paperwork) in compliance with policies
