About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance Worker performs maintenance across buildings throughout the campus. Work includes painting, sheetrock and other surface repairs, floor care, HVAC filter replacement, and general maintenance. The role also operates scissor lifts and forklifts safely and assists the custodian team with cleaning duties when assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, with emphasis in office skills, shop skills, or other relevant areas, plus 12 to 18 months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to perform the essential duties satisfactorily, with mental alertness and adaptability to office and field work routines.
• Ability to use non-complex machines and equipment.
• Ability to read and understand policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and communicate effectively through speaking, writing, listening, and interacting with others.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and use money and other forms of measurement.
• Ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions and resolve routine problems involving a few known variables.
• Physical ability to perform the listed standing, walking, hand-use, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, sitting, tasting, smelling, lifting, and vision activities.
• No certificates, licenses, or registrations are required.

Responsibilities

• Repair concrete, stucco, and sheetrock.
• Paint interior and exterior walls and trim, including minor and routine painting.
• Clean floors using floor cleaners and equipment and apply floor sealant as needed or instructed.
• Operate scissor lifts and forklifts safely.
• Replace HVAC filters according to the SOP schedule or when instructed.
• Perform minor carpentry, plumbing, and other assigned construction and maintenance activities.
• Assist the custodian team with cleaning duties when assigned.
• Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
