About The Position

Responsible for assisting in the maintenance of the Church and School campus and surroundings, especially as it pertains to major projects and tasks. This role involves assisting in construction and modification projects that do not require external contractors, maintaining the full functional use of electrical and mechanical systems, and collaborating with the facilities department to ensure timely response and closure of facilities work requests. The technician must also identify and report facility issues that may affect physical safety and well-being, survey buildings, and repair mechanical systems to meet health and safety standards. Additionally, the role includes assisting in the installation and repair of ventilation, refrigeration, plumbing, and electrical systems, maintaining heating and plumbing systems, inspecting alarm systems, performing manual repairs, and monitoring vendors and general campus upkeep.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Mechanical, Plumbing and Electrical maintenance, Drywall, Painting, and the use of specialized tools to accomplish such.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Must be clean, professional, and punctual.
  • Willing to become part of a team and continue to learn and grow.

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma or GED required or equivalent (preferred)
  • 1-2 years maintenance experience working in the trades preferred
  • Air conditioning certification preferred
  • Driver’s license preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in all construction and modification projects that do not require external contractor involvement.
  • Assisting in maintaining full functional use of all electrical and mechanical needs for the church and school.
  • Collaborating with the facilities department to ensure timely response and closure of facilities work requests.
  • Bringing to the attention of the Facilities and Construction Director any facility issues that may affect the physical safety and well-being of any person on any campus.
  • Surveying buildings and repairing mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards.
  • Assisting in the install of ventilation, refrigeration, Plumbing, Electrical and other systems and conducting repairs when necessary.
  • Maintaining heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality.
  • Inspecting alarm systems and scheduling repairs when needed.
  • Performing manual repairs on both campuses as necessary.
  • Monitoring vendors and conducting general campus upkeep procedures.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
