About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance Technician performs skilled maintenance and repair tasks, requiring a high degree of manual and technical competency. This role involves troubleshooting and repairing various equipment and systems, including pumps, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, and paint. The technician will also perform basic welding, read blueprints, and ensure equipment and facilities are maintained in safe operating condition. Adherence to company GMP/Safety Standards and participation in training sessions are essential.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of domestic plumbing.
  • Knowledge of all types of valves and functions, including automated valve actuators.
  • Knowledge of RO/DI water systems, ozone, T.O.C., U.V. light filtration.
  • Understanding of boiler operations, chemical feed system, condensate return systems, Y strainers and steam trap functions.
  • Knowledge of rotary screw compressors, air dryers, oil/water separators.
  • Knowledge of Daikin rooftop chillers, glycol/water mixtures, pumps, flow and temperature.
  • Basic understanding of Ph balance and levels in wastewater.
  • Knowledge of rooftop AC units, exhaust fans, automated louvers, gas heaters.
  • General construction ability.
  • Ability to repair drywall, light fixtures/bulbs, general bathroom repairs, painting, daily facility inspections and repairs, egress lighting, fire extinguisher inspections, storm water inspections.
  • Knowledge and ability to use all types of hand tools and power tools.
  • Knowledge of low voltage (12v thru 120v) electrical circuits, breaker box.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair pumps.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Passing a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

  • Locates and determines malfunctions using test equipment.
  • Performs facilities repair, carpentry, drywall, and paint.
  • Performs plumbing tasks.
  • Performs checks on safety equipment.
  • Performs basic Tig and Mig welding on mild steel and stainless steel.
  • Reads blueprints.
  • Moves parts and frames on and off machinery and throughout the facility.
  • Maintains equipment and facilities in a safe operating condition.
  • Repairs breakdowns as required.
  • Makes operating line adjustments as requested.
  • Operates angle grinder, manual vertical band saw, and pedestal grinder.
  • Understands and follows company GMP/Safety Standards and policies.
  • Participates, as required, in safety and GMP training sessions, and other company training sessions.
