About The Position

Responsible for performing all duties safely, according to all company safety policies and procedures. Must wear appropriate PPE for all tasks that require them. Support 5S Housekeeping program, continuous improvement, foster creativity, and other company initiatives. Perform various facility and grounds maintenance functions, including general building repairs, electrical repairs and modifications, office and furniture repairs and rearrangement, building painting, equipment installation and repair, exterior grounds maintenance, recycling and hazardous waste disposal, as well as perform carpentry, plumbing and welding functions as needed to maintain the facilities. Assist Sr. Maintenance Technician or Supervisor with creation of PM schedules, and support adherence to them. Take lead on tasks when working with Assistant Maintenance Technicians and help mentor or train. Maintain all equipment properly to prevent hazards and ensure correct operation. Repair and/or replace broken equipment as required, to ensure that production operations experiences minimal downtime. Assist with the repair and rearrangement of office furniture, equipment and partitions, as required. Work with Sr. Maintenance Technician or Supervisor to make sure shop equipment and supplies are ordered in a timely manner. Maintain all tools and equipment in a safe and secure manner. To ensure that only authorized/ trained personnel utilize Maintenance Shop equipment. Ensure that all maintenance and machine shop equipment is in good operating condition before using. Keep maintenance area clean, tidy and organized. Communicate effectively with vendors while they are on site. Use the forklift to pick up heavy objects, Fork lift certification is required Support operations and other departments as required to meet company’s overall objectives.

Requirements

  • Requires high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Requires 3-5 years of experience in maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, furniture and landscaping, or experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must possess strong mechanical and construction skills, to perform maintenance and repairs in a timely manner.
  • Must possess interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with Hestan employees.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English and follow directions.
  • Requires a valid California driver’s license.
  • Must possess the mental and physical capacities necessary to perform the job duties.
  • Fork lift certification is required.
