Facilities Maintenance Technician - HVAC Certified
About The Position
Sumitomo Electric Carbide Manufacturing, Inc. is hiring a Facilities Maintenance Technician with HVAC certification to maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize the plant’s HVAC, climate control, makeup air, and cooling systems. The role supports reliable operation and uninterrupted manufacturing. The technician also collaborates with the maintenance team on general building maintenance and machine repair. The work environment is a well-lit, temperature-controlled machine shop. Employees may work while standing, sitting, bending, and climbing, and will occasionally lift items and work inside machines.
Requirements
- Active EPA Section 608 Universal Certification.
- Three to five years of hands-on experience in commercial HVAC service and maintenance, including commercial rooftop units.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting abilities, including reading schematics and working with 480V three-phase power, control circuits, and VFDs.
- Basic understanding of PLC controls.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- State and local HVAC license preferred.
- Previous experience with CNC grinding equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on commercial rooftop units and chillers.
- Monitor and maintain facility climate and ventilation controls.
- Perform refrigerant recovery, evacuation, leak testing, and charging in compliance with EPA Section 608 regulations.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team on general building maintenance and machine repair.
