About The Position

Castelion is hiring a Facilities HVAC Technician to maintain and repair HVAC, refrigeration, and process cooling equipment and support site-wide facilities operations. The role includes preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, equipment installation and repair, and maintaining department service records. The technician may work on an on-call basis and take on other responsibilities assigned by management. The position requires physical capability to work from ladders and at heights, lift more than 50 pounds, and follow detailed written and verbal instructions. The work may involve access to export-controlled information and, if designated, classified information or restricted government sites or systems. Any required security clearance or government authorization would be communicated if applicable.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Four years of experience in HVAC, chillers, cooling towers, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
Own basic HVAC tools.
Universal EPA certification.
Active California Driver’s License.
Familiarity with electrical and electronic components related to air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
Physical capability to work from ladders and at heights and lift more than 50 pounds.
Ability to follow exacting written and verbal instructions.

Experience in the aerospace or defense industry.
Strong computer, math, analytical, and planning skills.
Experience with building maintenance management and work order tracking systems.
Knowledge of building automation control systems and troubleshooting I/O.
Experience with Microsoft Outlook.
Experience working on HVAC equipment in a manufacturing environment serving production machines.

Responsibilities

Repair and maintain HVAC and process cooling equipment, including AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, VAVs, heaters, boilers, air compressors, air dryers, and freezers.
Conduct routine and periodic inspections to identify repairs and maintenance needs before breakdowns occur.
Use hand and power tools to troubleshoot, test, inspect, and repair mechanical and refrigeration equipment.
Review and follow blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications.
Install, service, modify, rebuild, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration systems in accordance with applicable building codes and safety regulations.
Document and maintain Maintenance Department records, including preventive maintenance activities and service reports.
Install ductwork and BACnet/JACE controls, and replace packaged units.
Assist in managing site-wide operations and support tasks as assigned.
Work on an on-call basis and handle responsibilities assigned by management.
