About The Position

Castelion is hiring a Facilities HVAC Technician to maintain and repair HVAC, refrigeration, and process cooling equipment. The role includes preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, installation, equipment modifications, and maintenance recordkeeping. The technician will also support site-wide operations, may be assigned additional duties by management, and will work on an on-call basis. The position requires physical work, including working from ladders and at heights and lifting more than 50 pounds. It also requires following written and verbal instructions and applicable building codes and safety regulations. Depending on company or government requirements, the role may involve access to classified or restricted U.S. Government information or sites, and access to export-controlled information.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Four years of experience in HVAC, chillers, cooling towers, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
Own basic HVAC tools.
Universal EPA certification.
Active California Driver’s License.
Familiarity with electrical and electronic components related to air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
Physically capable of working from ladders and at heights and lifting over 50 pounds.
Ability to follow exacting written and verbal instructions.

Experience in the aerospace or defense industry.
Strong computer, math, analytical, and planning skills.
Experience with building maintenance management and work order tracking systems.
Knowledge of building automation control systems and troubleshooting I/O.
Experience with Microsoft Outlook.
Experience working on HVAC equipment in a manufacturing environment that serves production machines.

Responsibilities

Repair and maintain HVAC and process cooling equipment, including AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, VAVs, heaters, boilers, air compressors, air dryers, and freezers.
Conduct routine and periodic inspections to identify repairs and maintenance needed before equipment breakdowns occur.
Use hand and power tools to troubleshoot, test, inspect, and repair mechanical and refrigeration equipment.
Review and follow blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications.
Install, service, modify, rebuild, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration systems in accordance with applicable building codes and safety regulations.
Document and maintain Maintenance Department records, including preventive maintenance activities and service reports.
Install ductwork and BACnet/JACE controls and replace packaged units.
Assist in managing site-wide operations and perform support tasks as assigned.
Work on an on-call basis and handle responsibilities assigned by management.
