Facilities Maintenance Technician - HVAC Certified
About The Position
Sumitomo Electric Carbide Manufacturing, Inc. is seeking a Commercial/Industrial HVAC Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize the plant’s HVAC, climate control, makeup air, and cooling systems, helping ensure reliable operation and uninterrupted manufacturing. The role includes HVAC service and maintenance as well as collaboration with the maintenance team on general building maintenance and machine repair. The work takes place in a well-lit, temperature-controlled machine shop. Employees must be able to work while standing, sitting, bending, and climbing, and will occasionally lift items and work inside machines.
Requirements
- Active EPA Section 608 Universal Certification.
- Three to five years of hands-on experience in commercial HVAC service and maintenance, including commercial rooftop units.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting abilities, including reading schematics and working with 480V three-phase power, control circuits, and VFDs.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- State and local HVAC license preferred.
- Basic understanding of PLC controls.
- Previous experience with CNC grinding equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on commercial rooftop units and chillers.
- Monitor and maintain climate and ventilation controls throughout the facility.
- Perform refrigerant recovery, evacuation, leak testing, and charging in compliance with EPA Section 608 regulations.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team on general building maintenance and machine repair.
