About The Position

JLL is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician for their 2nd shift operations. This entry-level position supports the operation, inspection, and light maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems. The role offers hands-on experience with diverse equipment, learning opportunities from subject matter experts, and a collaborative environment designed to develop technical skills and advance careers in facilities management. The technician will be part of a 10+ member engineering team at a multi-building client property managed 24/7 by JLL.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant work experience in commercial industry general building preventative and corrective maintenance
  • Valid state driver's license (must possess and maintain)
  • Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and/or Building Management System (BMS)
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)
  • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
  • Ability to work from heights and climb ladders up to 30 feet while carrying a tool bag weighing approximately 20 lbs. (300 lb. ladder weight limit)
  • Capability to work in adverse conditions (extreme cold, extreme hot)

  • Trade school education, union training, military service, or college coursework
  • Previous experience in large multi-building commercial facilities

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs to Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Furniture, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems to keep these systems up to applicable standards.
  • Execute predictive, planned, preventative, and routine maintenance, equipment rounds, and service requests as directed in accordance with the JLL Preventative Maintenance Program.
  • Assist with the development and improvement of preventative maintenance programs, schedules, work instructions, SOPs, and operational procedures.
  • Control daily operation of all mechanical equipment in the physical plant and buildings.
  • Complete all tenant service requests accurately and expediently.
  • Maintain time and production records and customer service requests utilizing CMMS and other computer/technology tools.
  • Evaluate building systems to monitor and improve performance and operating efficiency.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality while suggesting changes to increase efficiency.
  • Participate in the on-call engineer rotation for the portfolio of office buildings and respond to after-hours site emergencies.
  • Actively participate in emergency response procedures, technical and safety training programs.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures, including safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials while maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
  • Perform all work using proper safety equipment and in a safe manner.
