About The Position

Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of warehouse-related equipment such as pallet jacks, highlifts, forklifts, and batteries to ensure the continuous functionality of day and night warehouse operations for efficient product shipping and receiving. This role involves industrial maintenance of the building, including basic plumbing, refrigeration systems, electrical work, running wires/data cables, repairing dock doors/plates, basic welding, carpentry, painting, storage rack repairs, and drywall. The technician will also review equipment reports from warehouse associates, record actions taken, maintain a repair log, perform preventative maintenance (PMs) on equipment, and maintain PM logs. Compliance with all USF and government safety guidelines, including Lock Out/Tag Out procedures, is essential. The role also includes responsibility for company tools and maintenance equipment, including inventory, safe operation, proper storage, and security.

Requirements

  • A minimum of six months previous Building Maintenance experience required.
  • Knowledge of Building Maintenance, electrical knowledge, basic plumbing, welding and carpentry.
  • Able to read and write legibly.
  • Able to follow orders.
  • Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
  • Able to work with little direct supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Equipment repair and operation.
  • Able to repair and overhaul warehouse equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Industrial Maintenance of Building.
  • Performs Building / Industrial maintenance duties (i.e., basic plumbing, refrigeration systems, electrical; running of wire/data cables, repair dock doors/plates; basic welding, basic carpentry, painting, storage rack repairs, drywall).
  • Review any equipment reports submitted by warehouse associates, record actions/repairs taken, and maintains a repair log per USF policy.
  • Perform PM’s (Preventative Maintenance) on equipment, and maintain PM log with proper documentation, per USF policy.
  • Comply with all USF and government guidelines regarding safety when working on equipment (i.e. Lock Out/Tag Out, placarding and required documentation, safe work environment, etc.).
  • Responsible for company tools and maintenance equipment used in performance of job duties, including inventory maintenance, safe operation, proper storage, and security of tool area.
