About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance Technician will be responsible for assisting with overall maintenance and preparedness of the Miller Electric Center including assisting with maintaining all building systems.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift 25lbs, 50lbs, and 80lbs regularly.
  • Ability to effectively manage operational aspects of multiple projects and department activities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational and multi-tasking skills required.
  • Exceptional evaluation, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to anticipate, plan, recommend, implement, and follow-through required.
  • Ability to perform duties proactively and collaboratively required.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including weekends and nights when needed.
  • Be available for on-call duty after hours or weekend emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Actively monitors facility and surrounding equipment for proper function, safety, and longevity.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs facilities component systems and equipment in accordance with SOP’s, internal requirements, manufacturers specifications and safety policies with maximum efficiency.
  • Repairs, alters, and maintains a variety of tools and equipment.
  • Painting of structures, drywall and plaster, performs masonry work, repairs plumbing fixtures and woodwork.
  • Assembles components, repairs furniture, fixtures, and equipment as needed.
  • Assists higher level technicians, with access to workspace and assists with physical labor when appropriate.
  • Possesses advanced knowledge of mechanical and facilities repair and maintenance.
  • Ability to use power tools and ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and repaired.
  • Manage preventative maintenance schedules and coordinate extensive repairs to systems with outside vendors or contractors.
  • Assists in repairs of refrigeration units, plumbing and electrical and other mechanical systems.
  • Must work in compliance with established OSHA procedures.
  • Assist with Basic building automation system request.
