Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to estimate jobs.
  • Familiarity with hand tools & equipment associated with the trades.
  • 1-5 Years minimum of work experience performing building maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to satisfactorily pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
  • Ability to satisfactorily pass a motor vehicle record check.
  • Ability to meet P1 qualifications to operate a vehicle on company business.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have access to drive a well-maintained vehicle.
  • Must have up-to-date registration with the local Department of Motor Vehicles.
  • English language fluency required to effectively perform essential job functions including customer consultations, team collaboration, and documentation.
  • Candidate must be very detail-oriented with analytical, mathematical, and grammatical aptitude.
  • Accuracy and precise calculation ability will be essential to the position.
  • Ability to multi-task assignments - works on multiple projects simultaneously and retains detail on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, and test mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, and fire & life safety systems using various tools and instruments.
  • Respond immediately to fire alarm systems, disengaging electrical, water, or gas systems to protect occupants and property, and assist hospital staff as needed.
  • Perform specified preventive maintenance and testing of equipment.
  • Conduct periodic inspections of designated buildings and equipment.
  • Repair and perform preventive maintenance on general building facilities and electrical, mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration, and communication systems.
  • Perform prescribed non-destructive tests.
  • Collect and report deficiencies, and document all tests using computer and handwritten logs.
  • Communicate effectively with the owner or owner's representative regarding work performed and system status in a demanding environment.
  • Interpret engineering drawings related to system layout, location, and operation.
  • Be responsive to customer needs.
  • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gathering and analyzing information skillfully, developing alternative solutions, and working well in group problem-solving situations.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established code and safety procedures.
  • Perform patient room preventative maintenance, including door adjustments, ceiling tile replacement, and floor tile replacement.
