About The Position

The Maintenance Technician supports the Facility Management team in performing the overall maintenance, inspections and repair of Industrial Scientific facilities and equipment systems. All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies and goals of the company enabling Industrial Scientific to achieve its vision, mission, and business objectives.

Requirements

  • One or more years of experience in the building trades and facility maintenance.
  • Skilled in the use and care of hand tools, gauges, DVM multi-meter, power tools, and other related equipment.
  • Ability to recognize and report safety hazards and take precautionary methods.
  • Ability to be reached by cell phone during off hours.
  • Willingness to periodically work after hours and on weekends for emergencies or routine work.
  • Proven self-starter, working with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to walk the building to identify and correct problems.
  • Ability to access and monitor security cameras and change access levels for employees.
  • Ability to create, comment, and close Jira tickets.
  • Ability to train others on the Building Automation System (BAS).

Nice To Haves

  • Technical school degree.
  • Skilled in various building trades including electrical, plumbing, technical, mechanical knowledge, painting, drywall repairs, lamp/ballast replacement, and some knowledge of HVAC.
  • Working knowledge and/or expertise in the use of building automation systems.
  • Prior experience in the use of work order systems and generating/closing work tickets.
  • A strong background and prior experience in facilities maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret building drawings, documents, and follow electrical diagrams.
  • Ability to write detailed repair reports and good verbal communication.
  • The ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
  • The ability to perform heavy cleaning.

Responsibilities

  • Perform overall maintenance, inspections, and repair of facilities and equipment systems.
  • Execute basic mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing tasks.
  • Troubleshoot building and equipment related issues and implement solutions.
  • Repair failures of production and facilities equipment.
  • Ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness, reducing cost whenever possible.
  • Complete all maintenance and repair service requests, inspections, and adjustments as assigned.
  • Obtain necessary materials and/or supplies to complete assigned work orders.
  • Participate in plant safety, health, and environmental programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all company, local, City, State and Federal safety guidelines.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous manner with employees, visitors, and contractors.
  • Clean kitchen bi-weekly and perform deep cleaning as needed to maintain Health Department Standards.
  • Clean and maintain designated building areas including carpets, floors, dusting, cleaning ceiling vents, and restroom cleaning.
