About The Position

As a Facilities Maintenance Technician IV – Carpenter, you will play a critical role in ensuring our environments remain safe, functional, and supportive for the individuals we serve. This position is responsible for performing a wide range of skilled carpentry work to maintain and repair agency facilities in accordance with established standards and codes. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Sufficient carpentry experience and technical knowledge to perform responsibilities independently
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents and perform accurate measurements
  • Working knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled carpentry and general maintenance tasks in a professional and efficient manner
  • Maintain clean, safe work areas and ensure compliance with all applicable codes and safety standards
  • Complete work orders from start to finish, including documentation and daily activity logs
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project scope
  • Measure, cut, shape, and install materials to complete repairs and construction projects
  • Construct, repair, and install structural components, fixtures, flooring, drywall, cabinetry, and furniture
  • Safely operate and maintain hand and power tools according to manufacturer guidelines
  • Troubleshoot issues, apply effective solutions, and communicate challenges to supervisor as needed
  • Maintain professionalism, adhere to uniform standards, and work collaboratively with staff
  • Complete required trainings and follow departmental procedures
  • Participate in on-call rotation, emergency response, and snow removal as needed
