The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of skilled and general maintenance tasks to ensure all bank properties consistently meet high standards of safety, functionality, and appearance. Covering central and northern Worcester County, this role includes maintaining and repairing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems; conducting preventative maintenance; and responding promptly to maintenance requests. Additional duties include routine painting, drywall repair, light to moderate carpentry, and various building upkeep tasks. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise—particularly in electrical and/or HVAC—along with excellent problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. This position plays a key role in supporting the Bank’s facilities operations and delivering exceptional service to internal and external clients.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a similar facilities maintenance role.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Experience with general property maintenance and painting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and other documents.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with power tools, multi-meters, and general hand tools.
  • Operating knowledge of maintenance software, Microsoft Office, current technology and an understanding of basic IT function.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, drive for up to an hour at a time, and stand for up to 7 hours per day. Periodic bending, twisting repeatedly or consistently. The work is performed while sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching or stooping, periodically, repeatedly and sometimes consistently for up to 7 hours per day.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with computerized building automation systems (BAS) is helpful.
  • Vocational training in a relevant field is desirable.
  • Trade license or certification (e.g., HVAC, Electrical, etc.) preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) years in facilities maintenance is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair a wide range of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical fixtures and components.
  • Perform in‑depth HVAC preventative maintenance; diagnose and resolve control and mechanical issues; and escalate complex repairs when necessary.
  • Install light fixtures, receptacles, and various electrical devices; safely troubleshoot electrical issues in accordance with NEC standards; and install data cabling and connectors as required.
  • Diagnose miscellaneous facility issues and determine effective, timely solutions.
  • Conduct routine inspections of buildings, equipment, and systems to ensure proper operation and safety.
  • Maintain clean, well‑kept building interiors, exteriors, and surrounding grounds.
  • Perform basic construction and repair tasks, including carpentry, concrete work, painting, drywall repair, and other general maintenance duties.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation within the maintenance software application.
  • Monitor and manage maintenance inventory, parts, and supplies.
  • Communicate maintenance issues, updates, and recommendations clearly and promptly to the manager.
