About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance Technician I performs maintenance on assigned properties to help keep them free from safety hazards and maintain an aesthetically pleasing condition. The role responds to maintenance calls and concerns and supports the upkeep of the properties, grounds, and work areas.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• General knowledge of building and grounds maintenance.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with tenants, contractors, and management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• U.S. work authorization is required.

Nice To Haves

• A degree from a two- or four-year college or university.
• Experience with Yardi or equivalent software.

Responsibilities

• Focus on the aesthetics of an assigned property or group of properties.
• Clean up grounds and parking lots.
• Verify that lighting systems are operating properly.
• Maintain cleanliness at entrances to tenant suites and spaces.
• Perform routine checks and sign-offs for fire extinguishers and exit and emergency lights.
• Remove snow and ice as necessary.
• Identify potential safety hazards on properties.
• Maintain landscapes and hardscapes.
• Support other Maintenance Technicians when necessary.
• Keep the shop and working areas clean.
