OneService is seeking a dependable, hands-on Facilities Maintenance Technician / Handyperson to support customer locations throughout the region, including Manhattan. The position reports to our Ronkonkoma office each day, where a company vehicle is provided for travel between assignments.

Requirements

  • Previous handyman, building maintenance or facilities experience strongly preferred.
  • Friendly, professional and team-oriented with strong customer service skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate a company vehicle.
  • Must be physically capable of climbing ladders and stairs, lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs., and working in tight or confined spaces.
  • Reasonable weekend availability for occasional maintenance emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic facility repairs, including minor plumbing, light electrical work, painting/spackling, changing locks, hanging fixtures and general maintenance.
  • Diagnose maintenance issues and determine when a licensed or specialized vendor is required.
  • Complete scheduled preventive maintenance and site inspections.
  • Assist our cleaning division as needed. Do not be surprised if this is a significant part of the job —duties may include covering cleaning positions, floor care such as carpet cleaning and stripping/waxing, delivering supplies, assisting with projects and inspecting customer locations.
  • Travel between customer sites and help coordinate maintenance and facilities needs.
