About The Position

As the Facilities Maintenance Technician 2, you will help maintain and repair resort systems while delivering exceptional guest experiences. This role involves performing engineering projects, responding to guest calls and preventive maintenance tasks as directed by resort management. You will troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical components, appliances, and household fixtures. Understanding HVAC systems for basic preventive maintenance and diagnostics is also part of the role. Additionally, you will be responsible for repairing interior and exterior walls, wall coverings, ceilings, and flooring such as tiles, grout, vinyl, and carpet. Work with pools, spas, and water features, including chemical balancing and cleaning, is also a key responsibility. The role requires active participation in procurement and inventory processes, effective operation of resort operations devices and software (HotSOS and other applicable systems), and professional communication through various channels. You will also perform maintenance and cleaning tasks, safely use hand and power tools, and work with ladders, scaffolding, and lifts while adhering to safety guidelines and PPE requirements. Recognizing and identifying potential safety hazards, communicating and interpreting guest needs, and adhering to all company policies and procedures are essential. You will always represent Westgate Resorts professionally through appearance, attire, and behavior, and perform other tasks as assigned by resort operations leadership.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in trades and maintenance within a resort or commercial environment.
  • Universal EPA certification is required.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and conversing in English is required.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move, push and/or pull up to 50+ pounds.
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work with enthusiasm and focus.
  • Strong communication skills required to excel in interactions with guests and colleagues.
  • Ability to be versatile, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Candidates are required to pass a background check, drug test, and demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • CPO (Certified Pool Operator) license is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering projects, guest calls, blitzes, and preventive maintenance as directed by resort management.
  • Troubleshoot plumbing issues, make repairs, and replace fixtures and piping as needed.
  • Diagnose, replace, and repair minor electrical components such as receptacles and ballasts.
  • Troubleshoot and repair appliances and household fixtures.
  • Understand HVAC systems and perform basic preventive maintenance and diagnostics.
  • Repair interior and exterior walls, wall coverings, and ceilings, including texturing, painting, and caulking.
  • Repair or replace tiles, grout, vinyl, and carpet as required.
  • Work with pools, spas, and water features, including chemical balancing and cleaning tasks.
  • Participate actively in procurement and inventory processes to ensure materials and tools are available for work.
  • Operate resort operations devices and software effectively (HotSOS and other applicable systems).
  • Communicate professionally through radios, phones, emails, and verbal interactions.
  • Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks as required by resort management.
  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, and battery-powered tools required for the job.
  • Work using ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
  • Follow safety guidelines and practices.
  • Recognize and identify potential safety hazards on the property.
  • Communicate and interpret guest needs through positive interactions toward resolution.
  • Adhere to all CFI/Westgate Resorts policies and procedures.
  • Always represent Westgate Resorts professionally through appearance, attire, and behavior.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by resort operations leadership.
