About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Supervisor to join Facility Maintenance team in the Quad Cities Metropolitan region! The Facility Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the company’s buildings, facilities, and equipment in an operating and functional condition. Duties may include any of the following: electrical repairs or installations, fleet repairs, plumbing, welding, carpentry, painting and plastering, masonry, machine servicing, and general mechanical maintenance (e.g., Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning or HVAC and sheet metal).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in a maintenance environment.
  • Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.
  • Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.
  • Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.
  • Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.
  • Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.
  • Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
  • Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.
  • Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.
  • Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
  • Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.

  • CMMS SAP Software experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day maintenance operations within a high-ops tempo 24/7 production environment
  • Coordinate and scheduling workload to hourly wage employees on non-routine and self-directed tasks
  • Effectively communicate with the site management team and the customer to understand requirements, solve complex problems, and provide solutions to manufacturing problems to meet client needs.
  • Exhibit strong leadership skills, such as motivation, delegation, ownership, leading by example, well developed organizational skills, excellent communication skills, etc.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude about the project and the company.
  • Provide support to develop strategies that create processes/programs able to sustain low operating costs.
  • Perform evaluations and train teams to identify/eliminate waste, reduce operating/ maintenance costs and reduce system failures.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on as scheduled in the Computerized maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Identify and document cost savings and activities to improve maintenance and equipment performance
  • Create and modify site operations procedures for equipment and recommend reliability improvements.
  • Develop, present, and manage compliance to key performance indicators.
  • Respond to and provide service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems.
  • Understand company policies and demonstrates ability to identify and correct safety-related issues. Safely perform functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.
  • Maintain a strict schedule to be successful in the assignment yet demonstrates flexibility in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.
  • Manage the operation and complete tasks to the satisfaction of the client, consistent with cost, schedule, and contractual requirements.
  • Leverage leadership and organizational management skills to ensure the success of business expansion.
