About The Position

This role will include oversight of all Equipment, Tooling, and Facilities preventive and reactive maintenance documentation requirements and work preparation activities. These will include initiating and expediting change controls, issuing and reviewing the completion of planned and unplanned work records, changes to preventive maintenance procedures, and oversight of the operation of the parts room. This person will work closely with the Production Planner, Maintenance Manager, Tool Room Manager, and Parts Room Clerk to schedule maintenance activities so that they minimize production downtime and take advantage of planned windows of opportunity. This person will also work closely with the System Administrator of IQMS (maintenance management system).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2-4 years of Preventive Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance operations within a manufacturing environment.
  • An understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices compliance and systems.
  • Computer hardware and software applications including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, a CMMS Program (IQMS PM preferred), and SAP.
  • Business English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Basic mathematical methods and practices.
  • Computerized Maintenance Management Systems set-up and operations.
  • Project management, organization, and communication.
  • Implementing practices for cost-effective management of resources.
  • Functioning successfully in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Analyzing problems, identifying solutions, and implementing procedures for resolution.
  • Responding to inquiries from management, employees, and regulatory agencies.
  • Communicating clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Managing multiple projects, duties, and assignments.
  • Interpreting and applying federal, state, and local policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Managing, coordinating, delegating assignments, and reviewing the work of assigned department personnel.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree or equivalent years of experience preferred.
  • plastic injection molding or high-speed manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain PM’s and the overall maintenance execution process including all SOP’s and WI’s through IQMS.
  • Work closely with the Production Planner, Project Management, and Facilities teams to schedule all maintenance work records (preventive and corrective) to minimize production downtime, take advantage of planned windows of opportunity, and ensure they are all completed on-time. This may include developing scopes of work and developing detailed plans to coordinate the work and in some cases project management of the work.
  • Provide PM (maintenance and tool room) scheduling to production planners at minimum 2 weeks prior to the month they are due.
  • Work with the Facilities team to ensure aging work requests are assigned and completed as soon as possible.
  • Review completed work records for accuracy and completeness of documentation.
  • Manage the storage of work order documentation.
  • Develop and maintain equipment and tooling information and history databases.
  • Work with Facilities Support to develop and track KPI’s and other metrics such as (but not limited to): PM’s completed on-time verses what is scheduled, Downtime caused by breakdowns, Actual Hours vs. Planned Hours for maintenance and tool room activities, Maintenance Department spend.
  • Create or modify preventive maintenance procedures to ensure that they are clear, complete, and accurate as related to the expected time required, and the quality of work performed.
  • Train and support maintenance technicians as necessary in IQMS to ensure work records are entered and completed as scheduled and are documented properly.
  • Develops workflows and drives an awareness and focus on safety including lock-out, tag-out programs, appropriate equipment guarding measures, and all other environmental, health, and safety programs.
  • Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and state, federal, and local laws.
  • Routinely reviews preventive maintenance program content and frequency.
  • Coordinate the creation and modification of accurate data records (equipment, BOM’s, counters, measurement points, maintenance tasks and maintenance plans), always focusing on “the best approach” philosophy and identifying site harmonization areas that need improvement.
  • Ensure proper change control processes are followed, and data is consistent with departmental and company standards.
  • Oversight of the efficient operation of the part rooms through IQMS and ordering system through SAP to include the direction of any Parts Room operation personnel.
  • Incorporate process within the parts room to manage spare parts and incoming parts.
  • Maintain parts within IQMS to include locations and part numbers.
  • Communicate effectively with outside vendors.
