About The Position

Peterson Cat has an immediate need for an experienced Facilities Maintenance Person at their Hillsboro, OR location. This role involves performing maintenance and repairs on fixed facility equipment at assigned Peterson locations and assisting other Facilities Maintenance department employees with project work as directed. Requirements

  • Must display thorough understanding of and ability to perform facilities maintenance tasks.
  • Must display working knowledge of most kinds of shop tooling, plant equipment, and building systems.
  • Must display knowledge of various facilities repair options and time requirements.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • A minimum of three (3) years of related experience in facilities maintenance and/or operations, preferably in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, safely and in alignment with Peterson’s core values.
  • Ability to travel away from base location up to 50% of the time.
  • Ability to work overtime, evenings, and occasional weekends as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) highly preferred.
  • Welding certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs and maintenance to building and fixed facility equipment, including removing and replacing broken equipment, plumbing, electrical repairs, replacing ballasts, light fixtures, and bulbs, and painting facilities.
  • Keep inventory of maintenance supplies and materials required for facilities maintenance.
  • Purchase repair parts and process related paperwork to ensure proper inventory levels and timely repairs.
  • Work overtime, evenings, and occasional weekends as needed for project assignments.
  • Attend scheduled training and departmental meetings.
  • Travel away from base location up to 50% of the time to perform maintenance, repairs, and other essential functions at assigned Peterson facilities.
  • Operate company or personal vehicle as needed.
  • Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
  • Assist in preparing for city, state, and federal inspections.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
  • Display excellent communication skills, including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
  • Respectfully take direction from supervisor/manager.
