Facilities Maintenance Manager, Licensed Mechanical Contractor
About The Position
Walmart is hiring a Licensed Facilities Maintenance Operations Manager to lead predictive and preventative maintenance across facilities in an assigned local regional market. The manager will oversee HVAC/R and general building maintenance across multiple locations, partner with Store Managers and Facilities Services leadership to keep facilities operating safely, efficiently, and reliably, and lead and develop facilities maintenance technicians. The role involves approximately 50% or more travel throughout the local region, generally same-day and without overnight stays. The manager will use reporting, analytics, and root-cause analysis to improve equipment reliability and maintenance performance; coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed; maintain contractor licensing and regulatory compliance; secure permits and coordinate inspections under mechanical and building codes; and conduct site inspections to support safety, quality, and compliance standards.
Requirements
- Current HVAC/R Mechanical Contractor license in good standing in the state of residence.
- EPA Universal Certification.
- 3–5 years of experience in facilities management, construction management, mechanical maintenance, engineering, or a related field.
- Strong HVAC/mechanical knowledge.
- Leadership skills and ability to coach, motivate, and develop others.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer-service skills.
- Experience with root-cause and equipment breakdown analysis.

Responsibilities

- Maintain required contractor licensing and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Secure required permits and coordinate inspections in accordance with mechanical and building codes.
- Conduct site inspections to support safety, quality, and compliance standards.
